The Comfort Zone = A Confident Individual
Think back to a specific time where you felt confident and were comfortable with your surroundings.
Now there is no way for me to guess the specifics of the situation you are imagining, but there is one thing that I can safely assume.
Did the situation involve you being around people that you were comfortable with or an environment that was well within your comfort zone?
I bet the majority of you reading this article would answer that question with a yes and that is because we feel most confident when we are inside our comfort zone and around people that make us feel relaxed.
The same person that feels confident and is not afraid to speak out will almost certainly clam up and become withdrawn in a group where they are not welcomed or where they feel insecure.
For example, put a confident person into a group in which they are not liked, or know very little about the topic of conversation and I’ll guarantee you that they will start to feel very insecure and even become withdrawn.
There is somewhere for everyone that will cause them to withdraw and take on the persona of a shy, insecure adult!
The key to being confident and outgoing is building your comfort zone levels and surrounding yourself with people that are positive and have a positive regard for you or your mission.
Do not mix with individuals that are negative or have a poor outlook on life because, eventually, this type of group will drag down even the most confident and outspoken individual.
Why do you think that counselors, professionals and other motivational individuals preach that you should monitor your friends very closely?
It’s because, over time, you start to take on their actions so it’s essential to make sure that they are positive!
Now some of you will claim that you are not comfortable in any situation.
This is simply a matter of what you have programmed into your mind and it can be changed in a couple of easy steps. Replace any and all negative thoughts with positive ones and read our article about

in the Confidence Center.
If you go to a social event, doctors appointment or anywhere else for that matter believing that it is negative, guess what, it will be!
Likewise, if you roll out of bed in the morning and tell yourself that today is horrible, then it will be!
Our mind believes what we tell it, so fill it with positive thoughts and regard for whatever you are about to take on and you will find that, in no time at all, your comfort zone levels will expand and you will start to have a positive and confident outlook on life!
