Self Hypnosis - Reworking The Brain

Regardless of whether or not you feel that hypnosis is a bunch of hog wash, you use it everyday! Answer these two questions and you will see what I mean.

Do you sometimes find yourself daydreaming at work, watching television or reading a book?

Do you talk yourself through a painful dentist appointment, or lecture from your employer?

If you answered yes, you are already using certain techniques deeply rooted in your subconscious mind.

Self hypnosis has helped millions of people with pain, confidence, anxiety, depression and many other things. The purpose of this article is to give you an idea of how to self hypnotize and improve your interactions with others.

There are no big secrets or tricks to this and you can use the techniques when you are at work, going to sleep, taking an exam or just about any other time in which you feel threatened or uncomfortable.

If you can focus and concentrate you can hypnotize yourself and improve your mental abilities, functioning and behavior. Here’s how:

1. Focus your eyes on something within a few feet. It may be a computer screen, dot on the ceiling or knob on the counter. Take a few deep breaths and let your body relax.

2. Speak these words in your mind: my body is relaxing every muscle one by one. I feel my muscles getting heavy because they feel tired. My feet relax, my legs relax, upper body relaxes, and arms relax. My body is now completely relaxed.

3. Close your eyes when you are ready and picture the most beautiful scene. Feel the air, hear the sounds and imagine yourself in this particular scene. The scene can be anything - the ocean, heaven, or your resort in the mountains.

4. Once you have entered your scene you will explore it, get comfortable with it and then you will begin the scripting.

5. In scripting you will need to talk yourself through whatever you want to improve or change. For example if you are trying to gain confidence you will repeat:

"I am leaving the insecure and unworthy individual behind, today I am finding myself that is a confident, self assured individual. I have the ability to speak to and with people instead of them speaking to me. I love life and all that I stand for because I am a warm, caring and confident individual"

The scripting does not have to be exact and can be written or thought about long before you enter into the hypnosis state. Like stated earlier hypnosis is not a mystical place that must be induced by someone else!
